Location data — the short version
We do not store any location information other than what a member chooses to share in a travel post, and only for as long as that post is live.
Your device location on the home, map and emergency screens is used in your browser only — to sort members by distance and to find nearby hospitals, pharmacies and urgent care. It is never written to our database and never shared with other users.
What we store
- Account details: name, email, phone, WhatsApp (optional), origin country, home Hatzolah organisation, local member number and qualification.
- Verification document: the qualification or medical ID card you upload, stored in a private bucket that only you and reviewing administrators can open.
- Travel posts: the location label and coordinates you chose, your dates, equipment level and contact numbers.
- Messages to administrators: messages you send through the app may be stored so authorised administrators can read and respond to them.
- Aggregate usage: counts of searches and of calls/WhatsApp taps, so administrators can see how the service is used.
Automatic deletion
Travel posts — including their coordinates — are purged automatically once the departure date passes. Deleting a post removes its location immediately. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts and verification document.
Who can see what
Active travel posts are public so anyone needing help can find a member. Your verification document, email address and application history are visible only to administrators with authority over your country or organisation.
Contact & third parties
Calls and WhatsApp messages go directly from your device to the member — we do not route, record or dispatch anything. Maps, place details and geocoding are provided by Google Maps Platform; hosting and database by our cloud provider.
Terms of service
- The app is a volunteer support tool, not an emergency dispatch service.
- Members must post accurate details and keep only one active post at a time.
- Misuse, false credentials or harassment result in removal without notice.
- Contact details obtained here may not be used for marketing or resale.
- Administrators may remove any post or account that breaches these terms or the standards of the community.
